Zafira Bhimani, PT completed her Masters in Health Science with specialization in Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy from University of Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Maryland a few months back in order to join our practice! She completed her Bachelors in Physical therapy from Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Mumbai, India. Following her graduation, she worked for a year in an Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Mumbai where she had the opportunity to work with patients with Orthopedic injuries as well as with State and Olympic Athletes. Her interest in Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy further intensified during this period. She has received training in several manual and exercise therapy techniques such as Kinesio and Rigid Taping, Pilates, Dry Needling and Mulligan. She plans to continue to enhance her skills by taking continuing education classes. She is currently working to gain US certification in Dry Needling. She believes in providing one to one quality care thorough evaluation and builds specific treatment plans incorporating patient goals. The intervention generally includes a combination of patient education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities and a home exercise program. What she loves the most about her job is having the ability to help people get back to their daily functioning and recreational activities that are important to them.
Outside of work, Zafira enjoys traveling and outdoor activities such as hiking rafting, and rock climbing. Zafira also enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with family and friends.
