Helena Workneh, PT, DPT, is a dedicated Physical Therapist, Certified Yoga Instructor, and Stretch Therapist. Her journey towards health and wellness began by venturing into yoga instruction in 2012. She continued on and earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Howard University in 2017 upon moving to Washington DC.
Within the scope of physical therapy, Helena honed her skills across diverse healthcare environments, from acute to subacute care to outpatient rehabilitation centers in the DC area, culminating in her current role at Montgomery Sports Medicine Center starting in December 2022. Her passion lies in elevating life experiences through movement therapy and integrative wellness practices, which she not only advocates professionally but also incorporates into her own life.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Helena finds joy in practicing yoga, exploring different cultures through travel, immersing herself in live music, and cherishing moments with friends and family.
Helena’s roots trace back to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and she is fluent in the Amharic language, embodying a rich cultural heritage alongside her commitment to fostering well-being in others.
