Founder and Physician
Dr. Kessous is board certified in both family and sports medicine. He completed his sports medicine training at Harvard Medical School’s Children’s Hospital, in Boston. Dr. Kessous received his medical degree from St. George’s University in 1999. He then completed a surgical internship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. After three years as a general and orthopedic surgery resident at Tel Aviv Medical Center, he returned to Boston to fulfill a family medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center.
Dr. Kessous is the founder and director of Montgomery Sports Medicine Center in Silver Spring, MD and he also has locations in Gaithersburg, MD and Bethesda, MD. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Kessous is an appointed clinical assistant professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He teaches sports medicine and orthopedic medicine to medical residents and students.
Dr. Kessous has extensive experience in both sports and orthopedic medicine. He has worked with various athletic events and sports teams at all levels, from professional to recreational. His experience includes working with participants in the Boston Marathon, the AT&T USA Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Boston Ballet Dance Company and the Northeastern University Ice Hockey team. Dr. Kessous has also served as a team physician for Major league Soccer, DC United.
Dr. Kessous is also currently a team physician for the U.S. Ski Team.
